Antalya Airport to Lara Beach Transfer: Distance, Time & Options

Antalya Airport (AYT) to Lara Beach is about 12 km, a 15 to 20 minute drive. The Kundu resort strip further east is 18 to 22 km, around 20 to 30 minutes. In July and August, allow 10 extra minutes for traffic. Lara is the closest resort area to the airport, which is why it is popular for short breaks. Drive time is only part of the journey: passport control and baggage at AYT can take 30 to 60 minutes on busy summer afternoons, so plan your hotel check-in around landing time plus about an hour.

Option 1: Private Transfer (the Family Answer)

A private transfer means one vehicle for your group only, a driver waiting for your flight and a fixed price agreed in advance. For a family of four with suitcases, it usually costs about the same as a taxi, without the queue or the meter. It is also the easiest option after a late-night landing, when buses are thin and the taxi rank is busiest.

Whoever you book with, confirm four things in writing: the total price for the vehicle (not per person), the number of large suitcases the vehicle takes, how long the driver waits if your flight is delayed, and the exact meeting point. A four-seat car is not automatically suitable for four adults with four large cases; a minivan such as a Mercedes Vito is the usual choice for families.

Option 2: Airport Taxi (the Solo Answer)

Official yellow taxis wait outside both international terminals. They run on the meter, with a higher tariff at night. Antalya’s taxi tariff rose in March 2026, so check the official fare board at the rank rather than relying on an older figure from a travel article, and ask for the meter to be switched on before you leave. Show the driver your hotel’s full name and map pin, not just “Lara”.

Option 3: Public Bus 800 (the Backpacker Answer)

City bus line 800 runs between the airport and the Lara district, via the Düden and Lara Caddesi area (past TerraCity and Laura shopping centres), taking about 25 to 30 minutes. It is the cheapest way to Lara, but it stops on city streets, not at hotel doors, and it does not serve the Kundu resort strip directly. At T1 the stop is to the right of the arrivals exit. Buses do not accept cash: pay with an AntalyaKart or a contactless bank card (the flat city fare is 42 TL with AntalyaKart and 50 TL by bank card since March 2026).

Check departure times in the AntalyaKart app or on the airport’s official transport page before you travel, especially for evening arrivals. • Family or more than two big suitcases: private transfer in a minivan.
• Couple with light luggage, daytime arrival: taxi or bus 800, depending on how close your hotel is to the main road.
• Landing after 22:00: pre-book a private transfer. Buses thin out and the taxi night tariff applies.
• Group of 5 to 8: one minivan is almost always cheaper than two taxis.
• Kundu all-inclusive: private transfer or taxi. The bus leaves you far from most resort gates.

The Lara Name Game: Tell Your Driver the Right Place

“Lara” covers a long stretch of coast. The city-side hotels along Lara Caddesi and Güzeloba are a different drive from the big Kundu resorts, and several hotel brands have more than one property with “Lara” in the name. The Terminal Detail Everyone Misses

Antalya Airport has two international terminals, T1 and T2, about 2.5 km apart (around 5 minutes by car). That is too far to walk with luggage; a shuttle bus and taxis link them. Check your terminal on your airline’s app on the day and send it to your driver with your flight number. If your terminal changes, message your provider and wait for new meeting instructions rather than walking to the other building.
