Where to Stay in Antalya for COP31: Hotel Areas & Transport Considerations

Antalya coastline lined with resort hotels near the sea, an area to consider when choosing accommodation for COP31

Quick answer

For COP31, the eastern side of Antalya (the Kundu end of Lara, Aksu and the Belek resort coast) keeps you closest to the venue and the airport. The city centre and Kaleiçi are further away but give you restaurants and evening life on foot. Whichever area you choose, the deciding question is whether your exact hotel is on the official COP31 accommodation platform, because only listed hotels get official shuttle stops.

Choosing accommodation for COP31 (9–20 November 2026) is really a transport decision. The conference venue is east of the airport, not in the city, and November is off-season on this coast, so a hotel that’s perfect in July may be quiet, partly closed or a long way from where you need to be. This guide compares the areas and gives you the questions to ask before you pay.

🚐 Staying off the shuttle route?

We quote private airport transfers, daily hotel ⇄ venue runs, team transport and cars with driver for your hotel and dates.

Start With the Official Accommodation Platform

The COP31 Presidency’s official accommodation partner is Coral Travel, and the official accommodation page links to its booking platform. The areas it lists are the vicinity of the venue, Belek and the coastal resort zone, Antalya city centre, and locations with shuttle or public transport links to the venue.

This matters for one reason above all: the UNFCCC information for participants says conference shuttle stops will be available only at hotels listed on the official platform. Two hotels a few hundred metres apart can have very different daily commutes if only one of them is listed. Check the exact property, not the area name.

Kundu, Aksu and the east end of Lara

The big resort hotels along the Kundu coast sit in the Aksu area, the same district as the venue, and are the natural base if proximity is your priority. The trade-off is that you’ll eat most evenings at the hotel, and out of season some large all-inclusive resorts close sections or run reduced facilities. Being close to the venue does not mean a hotel has an official shuttle stop: check each hotel one by one on the official accommodation platform. Our Lara Beach hotel guide explains the city-side versus Kundu split.

Belek and the coastal resort zone

Belek is further east along the Antalya–Alanya road and is named on the official accommodation page. It suits delegations who want a quiet resort base and are on the shuttle list. If you’re not, factor in a longer daily journey. See our Belek hotels guide and airport to Belek transfer guide.

City centre and Kaleiçi

Staying in town means restaurants, the old harbour and evening walks on your doorstep, and the official transportation page lists a city centre ↔ venue shuttle route. It’s also the furthest option from the venue, so it suits people with fewer conference days or those who value evenings over commute time. Boutique hotels in Kaleiçi often can’t be reached by car to the door; check the drop-off point. See boutique hotels in Kaleiçi.

Apartments for longer stays and teams

Teams staying the full two weeks sometimes prefer serviced apartments with a kitchen and a shared living space. Check each property on the official platform; if it isn’t listed, budget for transport from day one. Our apart hotels guide covers the options.

November Is Off-Season: Check the Hotel Is Actually Open

Antalya’s resort coast is built around summer. By November, some resorts close for the winter and others keep running with fewer restaurants, unheated pools or shorter hours. Before you book outside the official platform, ask the hotel in writing whether it’s fully operating on your dates, which restaurants are open, and whether the pool is heated if that matters to you. Our heated-pool hotels guide and Antalya in November give the seasonal picture.

Five Questions to Ask Before Confirming Your Hotel

1. Is this exact property on the official accommodation platform? Similar hotel names across sister brands cause real confusion.

2. Where will I board the shuttle or meet my driver? Reception, a gate or a stop down the road need different planning.

3. Does my transport plan cover early starts and late finishes? Compare your agenda with published shuttle times once they’re out.

4. What happens before check-in and after check-out? Ask about luggage storage if your flight times don’t match room times.

5. What can I change if my schedule changes? Room and transport cancellation terms are separate; one supplier’s flexibility doesn’t carry over to another.

A Simple Hotel-and-Transport Comparison Sheet

Make one line per hotel: property name → exact address → official platform yes/no → airport arrival plan → daily venue plan → room cost → extra transport cost → cancellation deadline. Leave unknowns as “to confirm” rather than guessing. Comparing the whole-stay cost, not just the nightly rate, often changes the answer.

Booked a Hotel Off the Shuttle List? Plan Your Transport Now

Plenty of participants will end up in a hotel or apartment without an official shuttle stop, often because the listed hotels filled up first. That’s workable, but it’s far easier to sort out before you arrive than on your first morning. The simplest set-up is one pre-booked airport transfer each way plus a fixed daily run between your hotel and the venue, or a car with driver for the days you have meetings in several places. Book the arrival leg early: demand for transfers and taxis in the days just before 9 November will be far higher than a normal November.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which area is closest to the COP31 venue?
The venue is in Aksu, east of the airport, so the Kundu end of Lara and the Aksu area are the closest resort zones. Belek is further east along the same road; the city centre and Konyaaltı are further west.

Will there be a shuttle from my hotel?
According to UNFCCC, only hotels listed on the official COP31 accommodation platform will have shuttle stops. Check your exact hotel on the platform.

My hotel isn’t on the official list. How do I get to the venue?
Your options are a taxi each day, the AntRay tram if you’re near a stop and travelling light, or a pre-booked private transfer. We arrange fixed-price daily hotel-to-venue runs and airport transfers with our TÜRSAB-licensed partner Sun Global Turizm (licence no. 11308); send your hotel and dates on WhatsApp for a written quote.

Is it better to stay in the city or at a resort?
Resorts on the eastern coast are closer to the venue; the city gives you restaurants and evening life on foot. If you’re on the shuttle list either way, pick the one that suits your evenings.

Are Antalya hotels open in November?
Many are, but some resorts close or reduce services after the summer season. Confirm in writing that the hotel is fully operating on your dates.

📝 A Local’s Note

A hotel listed simply as “Antalya” on a booking site can be anywhere from Konyaaltı in the west to Kundu in the east. Always check the district name on the confirmation (Konyaaltı, Muratpaşa, Aksu or Serik for Belek) before you pay.

If you’re choosing between two similar hotels, one on the official platform and one not, the listed one is usually worth a slightly higher room rate: the shuttle stop saves you a daily transport bill and a lot of morning uncertainty.
