Belek is Turkey’s most upmarket resort town — a place of championship golf courses, five-star all-inclusive resorts and long Blue Flag beaches, all set in fragrant umbrella-pine forest. It’s built for relaxing, but it’s also superbly placed: the Land of Legends theme park is right here, two of the world’s best Roman ruins are a short drive inland, and waterfalls, canyons and boat trips are all close by. If you’re staying in Belek (or Kadriye or Boğazkent), here’s an honest local guide to what’s worth your time.
Get your bearings
Belek is compact. The main resorts line the beach south of the town, with the small centres of Belek town and neighbouring Kadriye (where the Land of Legends sits) just inland, and Boğazkent to the east. The whole area is flat, green and golf-course-dotted. Getting around is easy: a cheap dolmuş runs the Boğazkent–Belek–Kadriye–Antalya route roughly every 20 minutes, and taxis are everywhere. Antalya Airport is only about 30–40 minutes away.
Visit the Land of Legends
Belek’s headline attraction is the Land of Legends — Turkey’s “Disneyland”, with roller coasters, a huge aqua park, a Nickelodeon zone, an aquarium and a spectacular nightly boat-parade light show. It’s a full-day family adventure, and here’s the local secret: the Shopping Avenue and the evening show are free to enter — you only pay for the daytime rides and pools. Play world-class golf
Belek is the golf capital of Turkey, and one of the top golf destinations in Europe. The area is packed with championship 18-hole courses — names like the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Kaya Palazzo, Cornelia, Carya and the National — many designed by golfing legends and threaded through pine forest with mountain and sea views. Whether you’re a serious player chasing a signature island-green hole or a beginner wanting a lesson, you can book tee times and golf packages easily. Bring sun protection and reserve ahead in the busy spring and autumn golf seasons.
Relax on Belek’s beaches
Belek’s coast is a long ribbon of golden Blue Flag sand backed by pines. Most of the beachfront belongs to the resorts, with sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports for guests, but there’s also a public Belek Beach Park with clean facilities, showers and cafés if you’re not staying right on the sand. The sea is shallow and gentle here, which makes it especially good for families.
Kurşunlu Waterfall & Nature Park
About 30 minutes from Belek, hidden in fragrant pine forest, Kurşunlu Waterfall is a lovely natural escape. Water tumbles over moss-covered rocks into clear green pools, and shaded woodland trails wind past little ponds full of turtles and fish. It’s cool and peaceful — a perfect short break from the beach. Wear sturdy shoes (some paths are slippery) and go in the morning before the tour groups arrive.
Explore the ancient cities: Aspendos & Perge
Belek sits right beside some of the finest Roman ruins anywhere. Aspendos has what many consider the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world — still used for concerts today — while nearby Perge is a vast ancient city with a stadium, colonnaded street and grand gates. A guided half-day covers both without the hassle of driving. Read our full Aspendos & Perge guide for what to see and how to visit.

Family fun beyond Land of Legends
Belek is made for families. As well as the Land of Legends, there’s the Troy Aqua Park & Dolphinarium with slides and dolphin shows, horse riding and pony rides at the area’s equestrian centres (Belek is a big horse-riding hub), and the enormous Antalya Aquarium — one of the world’s largest tunnel aquariums — about 30 minutes away in Konyaaltı. Plenty to keep children happy for several days.
Adventure & day trips
When you want to roam further, the options are excellent. Köprülü Canyon delivers white-water rafting, jeep safaris and quad biking; the beautiful Suluada “Maldives” boat trip is bookable with transfers; Pamukkale’s white terraces make a classic (long) day trip; and Antalya’s old town is a lovely culture day. We’ve rounded them all up with prices in our guide to the best excursions from Belek.

Belek town, shopping & evenings
Belek and Kadriye centres are purpose-built and walkable, with shops, restaurants, a mosque and a clock tower, plus a lively Saturday market for textiles, spices and souvenirs (bring cash and haggle). For evenings, the Land of Legends Shopping Avenue is the big draw — free to enter, with shops, restaurants and the boat-parade show — while most of Belek’s nightlife happens inside the big resorts, with shows, bars and entertainment included in your all-inclusive.
How long to stay & when to go
Belek is really a relax-and-day-trip destination, so a week lets you mix beach and golf with a couple of excursions (Land of Legends, Aspendos, a canyon adventure). The beach season runs May to October; for golf, spring and autumn are ideal, with comfortable temperatures and the courses at their best. June and September give you warm sea with fewer crowds than peak summer.
