Tazı Canyon & Rafting Tour with Selge & Adam Kayalar (€45)

Tazı Canyon's vertical cliffs and deep gorge seen from the rim viewpoint near Antalya

Most rafting tours from Antalya go to Köprülü Canyon, raft for a couple of hours and head home. This one adds the best part of the national park that most visitors never see: the sheer cliffs of Tazı Canyon, the ancient mountain city of Selge and the strange Adam Kayalar rock pillars on the road up to it. Then you come back down to the river for an afternoon of rafting. Hotel transfer and lunch are included, and you book directly with us on WhatsApp for €45 per person.

The Stops on the Day

Tazı Canyon

Tazı Canyon (tazı means greyhound in Turkish) is a narrow gorge where the Köprüçay has cut straight down through the limestone, leaving vertical walls hundreds of metres high. You walk out onto rocky ledges at the top and look straight down to the river far below. It’s the most photographed spot of the whole day, and for good reason. There’s no railing on most of the rocks, so watch your step and keep children close.

Adam Kayalar Rock Formations

On the mountain road up towards Selge, the landscape suddenly fills with tall, rounded limestone pillars standing among the pines. Locals call them Adam Kayalar, “the man rocks”, because from a distance they look like groups of people standing on the hillside. It’s a quick photo stop, but it’s one of those sights you don’t expect this close to the beach resorts.

Selge Ancient City

Selge was once one of the most powerful cities of ancient Pisidia, high up in the Taurus Mountains. Today the small village of Altınkaya sits right among the ruins. The highlight is the ancient theatre, built into the hillside with the mountains behind it. Unlike the big coastal sites, Selge is quiet, with no crowds and village life going on around the stones.

Rafting on the Köprüçay

After the sightseeing and lunch, you head down to the river. After a safety briefing you paddle through clear turquoise water and beginner-friendly rapids, with a guide in every raft. Earlier in the day, on the drive up to Selge, you also cross the Roman-era Oluk Bridge, a stone arch that still carries the road over the gorge.

How the Day Works

You’re picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to Köprülü Canyon National Park, roughly one and a half to two hours depending on where you’re staying. The sightseeing part (Tazı Canyon, Adam Kayalar and Selge) usually comes first, while it’s cooler, followed by lunch and the rafting. The exact order is set by the operator on the day. You’re back at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Is It Worth €45?

We think so. When we compared prices in September 2026, Tazı Canyon and rafting days sold on the big booking sites were listed at around €40 to €50, and many of them don’t include Selge or Adam Kayalar at all. This tour gives you the canyon viewpoint, an ancient city, the rock formations and rafting in one day, with transfer and lunch in the price.

If you care more about adrenaline than scenery, the Antalya Rafting Combo Tour (rafting, quad, Monster Safari and zipline, also €45) is probably the better choice.

What to Wear and Bring

  • Swimwear under light clothes
  • Shoes with a good grip for the canyon rocks that can also get wet on the river
  • A change of dry clothes and a towel
  • Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses with a strap
  • A light layer in spring and autumn, as the mountain stops are cooler than the coast

📝 A Local’s Note

At Tazı Canyon, walk a little further along the rim than the first viewpoint. Most people stop at the first ledge, and a few minutes on you’ll usually find a quieter rock with the same view and no queue for photos.

In Selge, the villagers sometimes sell handmade goods and fresh produce near the ruins. Buying a little is a nice way to give something back to a village that lives right inside an ancient city.

How to Book
