Antalya Without a Car: 5 Places You Can Reach by Tram & Bus

Aerial view of Konyaaltı Beach in Antalya with the city and mountains, reachable by tram

Quick answer

You don’t need a car for five of Antalya’s best-loved spots. The T3 tram takes you to Konyaaltı Beach, the T1A/T1B tram covers Kaleiçi (the old town) and Dokumapark, and one city bus, the KL08, reaches both the Lower Düden Waterfall and the municipal public beach in Lara. Every ride costs the same flat fare (42 TL with an AntalyaKart in 2026), cash is not accepted, and each stop below is only a 2 to 8 minute walk from the sight.

Antalya is spread out, and the taxi meter adds up fast if you use it for every outing. The good news is that the city’s tram and bus network quietly covers most of the places visitors actually want to go. The trick is knowing which line, which direction and which stop, because the stop names rarely match the name of the sight. This guide gives you exactly that for five easy, car-free trips: the line to board, the stop to get off at, and what the walk looks like from there.

Walking times are approximate and come from route planners. Depending on where your hotel is, you may need to change lines once to reach the starting line.

Before You Ride: Paying and Finding Your Stop

  • One flat fare. Since the March 2026 fare change, the AntRay tram and city buses cost the same: 42 TL with an AntalyaKart, 46 TL with a disposable card and 50 TL if you tap a contactless bank card. Drivers don’t take cash. Our AntalyaKart guide explains where to buy and top up a card, and this fares guide covers who rides free.
  • Check the direction, not just the number. Bus lines run in both directions under the same number. For the two KL08 trips below you want the bus heading towards Güzeloba (east, towards Lara).
  • Use the stop number. Every bus stop has a number on its sign (such as 10075). Typing it into a journey planner, or showing it to the driver, removes any confusion over similar-sounding stop names.
  • Check today’s timetable. Schedules change by season, and Antalya Ulaşım moved the T3 to its winter timetable in mid-September 2026. Look up departures on the AntalyaKart app or the Antalya Ulaşım website before you set off.

1. Lower Düden Waterfall (Düden Park)

Line: bus KL08, direction Güzeloba
Get off at: Düden Parkı-1 (stop 10075)
Walk: about 6 minutes to the park

The Lower Düden Waterfall is the one that drops straight off the cliffs into the Mediterranean, and the park on top is free to walk around. The KL08 is the handy line here because it runs right across the city, from Sarısu at the far western end of Konyaaltı, through the centre and out along Lara Caddesi to Güzeloba. That means you can catch it from many central and Konyaaltı neighbourhoods without changing. Expect a long ride if you board near the start: the full route takes around an hour and a half end to end.

For what to see, the best viewpoints and how it compares with the Upper Düden falls in Kepez, see our Düden Waterfalls guide.

2. Konyaaltı Beach

Line: T3 tram, Varsak–Müze
Get off at: Müze, the last stop
Walk: down from the museum area to the beachfront

The T3 ends at Müze, named after the Antalya Archaeological Museum beside it, on the clifftop at the eastern end of Konyaaltı. From here you walk down to the long pebble beach and the Beach Park promenade. The museum itself is closed while it is rebuilt, so don’t plan your day around it.

One change worth knowing: the red nostalgic tram that used to link Müze with the old town along the seafront has been suspended since July 2026 for safety checks on its vintage cars, and a replacement bus (NT07) runs instead. If you’re coming from Kaleiçi, that replacement bus or a short taxi is now the way to make the connection. Our Konyaaltı Beach guide covers sunbeds, the best sections and where to eat.

3. Dokumapark

Line: T1A or T1B tram
Get off at: Dokuma
Walk: about 8 minutes

The T1A (to the airport) and T1B (to EXPO) share the same track through the city, so either one works. Dokumapark is a free park built in Antalya’s old textile factory, with a toy museum, an open-air miniature park and a vintage vehicle hall. It’s one of the best family outings away from the beach and a good choice on a hot or rainy day. See our Dokumapark guide for a half-day route and tips on the museums.

4. Kaleiçi, via the Kalekapısı Entrance

Line: T1A or T1B tram
Get off at: İsmetpaşa
Walk: about 250 metres to Kalekapısı

Kalekapısı, by the old clock tower, is the main gateway into Antalya’s old town. From İsmetpaşa it’s a short, flat walk, and from Kalekapısı the lanes of Kaleiçi slope down to the old harbour. Hadrian’s Gate, the other classic way in, is about ten minutes’ walk east along the old walls. For a route through the old town, see our Kaleiçi walking guide.

5. Lara Municipal Public Beach

Line: bus KL08, direction Güzeloba
Get off at: Muratpaşa Lara Cd-19 (stop 13569)
Walk: about 2 minutes

This is the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality’s public beach facility on the Lara coast (Büyükşehir Lara Halk Plajı), a sandy, family-friendly beach where walking in and swimming is free and you only pay if you rent a sunbed. It sits on the same KL08 line as Düden Park, a few kilometres further east, so the two combine easily into one day. Lara actually has several public beaches run by different operators; our public beaches guide explains the difference and the prices.

Two Easy Car-Free Days

  • Lara day (one bus line): KL08 towards Güzeloba to Düden Park in the morning, back on the same line a few stops further to the Lara public beach for the afternoon.
  • City day (trams): T1 to Dokuma for Dokumapark in the morning, then back along the same line to İsmetpaşa for Kaleiçi, the harbour and dinner in the old town.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pay for the bus or tram in cash in Antalya?
No. Use an AntalyaKart, a disposable card or a contactless bank card. In 2026 one ride costs 42 TL with an AntalyaKart, and trams and buses now cost the same.

Which tram goes to Konyaaltı Beach?
The T3 (Varsak–Müze). Get off at Müze, the last stop, and walk down to the beach.

Which bus goes to the Lower Düden Waterfall?
The KL08 towards Güzeloba stops at Düden Parkı-1 (stop 10075), about a six-minute walk from the park. Other lines also serve the area, so check a journey planner from your hotel.

Is the nostalgic tram running?
It has been suspended since July 2026 for safety checks, with a replacement bus (NT07) on the route. Check Antalya Ulaşım for updates before relying on it.

Is public transport in Antalya safe for tourists?
Yes. Trams and buses are busy with locals at rush hour but straightforward to use. Keep your card topped up and note your stop number before you board.

📝 A Local’s Note

The KL08 is the line locals use to get between the two big beaches: it starts at Sarısu on the Konyaaltı side and finishes at Güzeloba in Lara. If you’re staying in Konyaaltı and want a change of scene, it gets you to Düden Park and the Lara sand without a single transfer. Just bring water and patience, it’s a long ride.

Load your AntalyaKart before you head out for the day. Tram stops have top-up machines, but out on Lara Caddesi there’s often nowhere to add credit, and the driver can’t sell you a ride.

Lines and stops checked on 1 October 2026 against Antalya Ulaşım announcements and published KL08 stop lists. Timetables change by season, so confirm departures before you travel.
