Quick answer
Antalya Canyon Ultra runs from 13 to 15 November 2026: race kit and gear checks on Friday, the 70K, 45K, Alageyik Trail and 22K races on Saturday, and the 13.5K, 7K and kids’ run on Sunday. The organisers say the race centre is about 20 km (20–25 minutes) from Antalya city centre, with free parking and a shuttle from the city whose times will be announced closer to the race. The race weekend falls during COP31, so book accommodation early.
Antalya Canyon Ultra takes trail runners into the limestone canyons just inland from the city: Güver Canyon, Kapuz Canyon, the Karaman stream valley and the area around Doyran. This guide focuses on the travel side of race weekend: the schedule, where to base yourself, and how to reach the start before dawn. For courses, mandatory kit and entry, the organiser’s website is the reference.
The Race Weekend Schedule
| Day | What happens (official programme) |
|---|---|
| Friday 13 Nov | Expo open 14:00–20:00; race kit collection and mandatory gear check 14:00–20:00; technical briefings by distance at 18:00, 18:30, 19:00 and 19:30 |
| Saturday 14 Nov | Race area opens 05:30; 70K, 45K, Alageyik Trail and 22K all start at 08:00. Cut-offs: Alageyik Trail 17:00, 45K 20:00, 70K 23:45; 22K to be announced |
| Sunday 15 Nov | Race area opens 06:30; 13.5K Güver Cliff Trail and 7K My Pace Run start at 08:00 (cut-offs 11:00 and 10:00); kids’ run 10:45; awards 11:00; festival closes 12:00 |
A note on the Alageyik Trail distance: the organiser’s own material has not been consistent. When we checked, the course page listed it as 36K (about 763 m of climbing, 36.3 km measured), while a version of the official event programme showed 33K. The organisers also say climb figures will be updated once the course is confirmed by ITRA. Check the distance and cut-off in your own registration and the race-week briefing rather than relying on either figure. The other courses range from the 7K My Pace Run to the 70K Antalya Termessos Ultra (about 1,935 m of climbing).
Book Early: COP31 Is On That Week
The UN climate conference COP31 runs in Antalya from 9 to 20 November 2026, so race weekend sits in the middle of it. Tens of thousands of delegates will be in the city, which means firmer hotel prices, busier airport arrivals and more traffic than a normal November weekend. If you haven’t booked a room yet, do it now, and build extra time into every journey.
Where to Stay
The organisers put the race centre about 20 km (20–25 minutes) from Antalya city centre, but the exact address and the shuttle’s route and stops had not been published when we checked. The best base depends on those two things, so:
- If you won’t have a car, choose a hotel close to the official shuttle departure point once it is announced. If you have to book before then, pick somewhere with free cancellation.
- If you’ll drive or book a transfer, compare the drive time from each hotel to the race-centre address when it is published, and remember the race area opens at 05:30 on Saturday.
- During COP31, traffic around the conference venue and airport side of the city may be heavier than usual, so allow extra time whichever area you choose.
Our where to stay in Antalya guide compares the areas in more detail.
How to Get There
From the airport: Havas airport buses and city public transport connect the airport with the city centre, and the airport to city centre guide compares every option. With a race bag and a suitcase, a pre-booked transfer straight to your hotel saves a change of transport.
To the race centre: the organisers say there will be a regular shuttle from the city centre during the race dates, with routes and times still to be announced, and free parking next to the race centre for cars, minibuses and campervans. On Saturday the race area opens at 05:30, and public buses won’t be much help at that hour. Your realistic options are the official shuttle, driving yourself, or a pre-booked car. Taxis can be scarce before dawn, especially during COP31, so don’t rely on hailing one.
If your group wants a vehicle that drops you before the race and collects you after you finish, request a quote on WhatsApp. Because finish times depend on your distance and the cut-offs run late into the evening, tell us your race distance and expected finish time so a realistic pickup can be planned.
November Conditions on the Trails
Mid-November in Antalya is usually mild on the coast, but the canyon rims are higher, cooler and more exposed, and November is when the autumn rains begin. Limestone gets slippery when wet. The sun sets around 17:00, so anyone running the 45K or 70K should plan for the possibility of finishing in the dark; check the official mandatory kit list for your distance. For the wider weather picture, see Antalya in November.
Before and After the Race
The 70K takes its name from Termessos, the mountain-top ancient city in the same range. If you’re staying on, our Termessos guide covers visiting it at walking pace. For an easy recovery day, a hamam in the old town is hard to beat; see our hamam guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Antalya Canyon Ultra 2026?
13–15 November 2026. Kit collection is on Friday, the longer races on Saturday and the 13.5K, 7K and kids’ run on Sunday.
How far is the race centre from Antalya?
About 20 km, or 20–25 minutes by road from the city centre, according to the organisers.
Is there a shuttle to the start?
The organisers plan a regular shuttle from the city centre during the race dates. Routes and times are announced closer to the event.
How long is the Alageyik Trail?
The organiser’s own pages have shown both 36K and 33K, so treat either figure as provisional. Confirm the distance in your registration and the race-week briefing.
Will COP31 affect my trip?
Probably in hotel prices and traffic, since the conference runs 9–20 November. Book early and allow extra travel time.
📝 A Local’s Note
Buy your race-morning breakfast the night before. Hotel breakfast rooms in Antalya rarely open before 07:00, and on Saturday you need to be at the race area well before that.
Bring a warm layer for after the finish. Canyon evenings in November cool down quickly once the sun has gone.
🏃 Need a lift to the race area?
Hotel to race area and back, or airport to hotel. Send your race day, hotel, number of runners and distance, and we’ll check availability.
