Antalya Airport to Kaş Transfer: All Options Compared

Kaş is one of the most beautiful corners of the Turkish Mediterranean, but there is no airport in town. If you are flying into Antalya Airport (AYT), you are looking at a journey of around 195 km along the coastal D400 road, which takes about 3 to 3.5 hours by car. I live in Antalya, and I will be honest with you from the start: this is the longest common transfer route from AYT, so choosing the right option matters more here than on any other route. Here is everything you need to know.

The distance is around 195 to 200 km, almost entirely along the D400 coastal highway. Driving time is about 3 to 3.5 hours in normal conditions, a little longer in July and August when coastal traffic builds up around Kemer. The good news: it is a genuinely scenic drive. You pass Kemer, Phaselis, the Tahtalı mountains and the Finike orange groves, so the journey itself feels like part of the holiday.

For this route, a pre-booked private transfer is honestly the option that makes the most sense for most travellers. Your driver waits at arrivals with a name sign, helps with luggage, and takes you door to door to your hotel in Kaş with no stops unless you want them. After a 4 hour flight, not having to think about anything for the 3 hour drive is worth a lot.

Pros: fixed price agreed in advance, door to door, child seats available on request, no luggage stress.
Cons: costs more than the bus, though split between 3 or 4 people it becomes very reasonable.

There is no direct bus from the airport to Kaş. You first need to get from the airport to Antalya’s main bus station (otogar), either by tram (AntRay, cheap but slow) or taxi. From the otogar, Batı Antalya Tur runs regular buses to Kaş roughly every hour during the day, taking about 4 hours. Tickets are cheap, usually around €10 to €15.

Total realistic journey time including the airport to otogar leg and waiting: 5.5 to 7 hours. It is fine for backpackers and solo travellers on a budget, but with kids or lots of luggage I would not do it after a long flight.

Yellow taxis are available right outside arrivals, but for a 200 km ride the fare is high and not always predictable, typically somewhere around €150 to €250 depending on the season and negotiation. Some drivers quote fixed prices above the meter rate for long routes. If you want a car with a driver, a pre-booked private transfer gives you the same comfort with a fixed price confirmed in writing, which is why I rarely recommend hailing a taxi for this specific route.

If you plan to explore the region (Kaputaş Beach, Kalkan, Patara, Saklıkent), renting a car at the airport is worth considering. The D400 is a good road and the drive is straightforward. Just note that parking in Kaş town centre is limited in high season, and many boutique hotels are on narrow streets. If you will mostly stay in Kaş and do boat trips, you do not really need a car.

Budget solo travellers: tram + otogar + Batı Antalya Tur bus.
Explorers planning day trips: rental car.
Nobody: airport taxi without a pre-agreed price.
