Antalya Airport (AYT) to Alanya is about 120 to 135 km, a drive of roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes along the D400 coast road. Konaklı and Okurcalar on the western side are closer; Mahmutlar and Kargıcak to the east add 15 to 25 minutes. If you have not booked flights yet, Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) is only about 40 km from Alanya, but has far fewer flights.

These are typical times outside rush hour. Summer weekend traffic through Manavgat and the Side junction can add 20 to 30 minutes, and passport control plus baggage at AYT usually take another 30 to 60 minutes after landing.

Option 1: Private Transfer (the Easy Answer)

On a two-hour drive, a private transfer is the most comfortable choice: one vehicle for your group, a driver who tracks your flight, no stops at other hotels and a fixed price agreed before you fly. For a family or group it often works out close to the per-person cost of a shared shuttle. Ask for a short rest stop if you are travelling with children; most drivers are happy to stop at a service station on the way.

Whoever you book with, confirm in writing the total price for the vehicle, how many large suitcases it takes, how long the driver waits if your flight is late, and the exact meeting point. A minivan such as a Mercedes Vito is the usual choice for four to seven people with luggage.

Option 2: Shared Shuttle

Shared shuttles are priced per person and can be the cheapest door-to-door option for one or two travellers. The trade-off is time: the bus waits for other flights and drops passengers at several hotels between Side and Alanya, so a 2-hour drive can become 3 hours. Check whether your hotel is on the route and what the luggage limit is.

Option 3: Airport Taxi

Official taxis wait outside every terminal and run on the meter. Over 120 km or more, a metered taxi is usually the most expensive way to reach Alanya, especially at night. Option 4: Tram and Intercity Bus

The budget route has three legs: the AntRay tram from the airport to Antalya’s intercity bus station (Otogar), an intercity bus or minibus to Alanya, and a taxi or local bus to your hotel. Buses to Alanya leave the Otogar regularly through the day. Allow 3 to 4 hours door to door. Pay for the tram with an AntalyaKart or a contactless bank card; cash is not accepted. It works for backpackers with light bags, much less well for families or late arrivals.

Always send the hotel’s full official name and a map pin from your booking confirmation.
